FOUNDATION OF EXCELLENCE

Tutoring After School

Foundation of Excellence tutoring is an after school program, which targets literacy problems that children in grades 2-5 are experiencing. Tutoring for Reading Components consist of:

  • Beginning Evaluation of the child’s reading level, using the evidence based proven Reading Inventory (RI) tool and input from teachers and parents.

  • Tutoring three times a week.

  • Student to teacher ratio: 3-2

  • One-to-one specialized guided instructions

  • Interim 8 weeks and end school year evaluations

  • Parent/Guardian coordination, once a month

  • Field Trips

Teen Dating Violence

Awareness and Prevention

This program is administered to middle and high school students.

  • Dating violence is a widespread issue that has serious long-term and short-term effects. Many teens do not report it because they are afraid to tell friends and family.
  • Among high school students who dated, 21% of females and 10% of males experienced physical and/ or sexual dating violence (National Center for Injury Prevention and Control)
